Ours

The story went like this. Months ago, he sent me the link of this studio where YOU are the photographer of your own photoshoot. At first, I just shrugged it off. He said he would go with his brothers. & then last week, I was reading through our past Facebook messages, all the videos and links he'd send me out of the blue and stuff, I stumbled upon the link of the studio. So I sent it back to him and asked him why we didn't go for this. So, we decided to go for it. I booked the studio for yesterday and ta-dah! It cost us $89.50 altogether. The studio booking fee for half an hour is $49.90. Per head is $9.90 and for every subsequent 30 minutes is $9.90. I booked it for one hour, thinking it would be enough. It was kinda enough but, when you're having fun, one hour is not enough. The only outfit we changed into is our graduation gowns, and that's just putting it over our clothes. There were all kinds of funny, funny props and it was really, really, really fun. I swear, that $89.50 was definitely worth it. You don't even have to pay for the pictures. They burn it into a DVD for you. No charges for even a few hundreds of pictures. Like, totally worth it right? (Y) Next up? Zoo & JBP. Soon, Insyallah. :3

So here goes, my first week as a trainee preschool teacher at PCF Kampong Chai Chee Blk 135. Tuesday to Thursday, I was exposed to the children. I am actually attached to the afternoon K-1 class, but if there are any teachers on MC, I will relief them. Tuesday and Wednesday, I was relief teacher for the K-1 class because their teacher was on MC. My principal actually helped me on Tuesday so I basically just stood around watching her teach the class. But on Wednesday, I was on my own. & it was really fun! The children are lovely. My best memory on that Wednesday is during snack time and I sat with one of the groups of children. This Indian girl named Krishita said, "Teacher Siti, I love you." My heart went 'Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww' and I totally melted into a puddle. Haha. So cute! I really loved that day, they were so obedient despite the fact that I'm their new teacher. I have an autistic child in my class though. I was thinking of observing her for one of my assignments, but apparently, she has already been diagnosed as autistic. So if I were to do my assignment on her, I would be stressed over the intervention part. :/

Anyway, on the Thursday, the K-1s teacher was back and I was helping the Nursery class teacher because her second teacher was on MC. This class was hard because 1) their teacher is a China citizen. Communication barrier, simply put. 2) the children also speak Chinese, even Indians and Malays. -.- banyak-banyak. IKR. So that day, the school had a phototaking session and it was sooooooooooo cute. The K2s wore their graduation gowns and mortar boards, and it was sooooo cute. My K1s saw the K2s in the music room in their grad gowns, and all of them crowded to the door to kpo-kpo see. So cute sia. & their teacher was saying, "Sit down, sit down! Your turn will come next year, don't worry!" HAHA.

And Friday? I didn't get to interact much with my K1s. See the picture above? I was stuck in the general office trying to sync CD songs into their one and only iPod. I managed to figure out that I just need iTunes, and it will do the rest. I know the same technique applies with iPhone and I should have known better, but hey! I've never used an iPod in my entire life, you can't blame me. :p

So while I was busy doing all the sync-ing and the editing of the K1s National Day song (which at the end of the day got stuck in my head), my K1 teacher, Pauline, came to me with this spoon of dumpling above. The K1s were making dumplings in class that day. I wished I had been there. But the dumpling was really yummy though. There was chicken, carrot and chopped water chest nut in it, and it was really crunchy. Pauline is so nice to me, all the teachers are, actually. And so is my principal. I'm just really lucky to be in this centre and not elsewhere. Thank you, Allah. :)

So when I was done with the spoon of dumpling, I washed it and brought it back to the classroom. My bag was there so I took my portable iPhone charger and my waterbottle. And then! Pauline gave me this cup of Pulut Hitam that had sago inside. The K2s were making this. Haha. Looks like I will have to improve my cooking skills if this is the case. Cooking lessons every once in a while. Hahaha. Imagine eh, I teach the kids how to do Putri Salat. HAHAHAHA. Okay, diam. I stayed in the office till almost 5.30 because I got carried away sync-ing the CDs into the iPod. My principal was like, "Siti, you can stop and continue on Monday, you know? Don't want go home ah?" Hehe.

I'm still thinking about getting a Macbook Pro. My sis said wait till the new one comes out in September or something. But I need a proper laptop now. One that would not give me problems because my assignments are precious stuff that if I lose, I am dead. Especially if I haven't submitted them because that meant that I have to start all over. My current laptop is super old already. It's starting to be slow, and the Local Disk capacity is near maximum. I was thinking of formatting everything and getting the RP system out because I still have to change my password every few months which is a  bugger because I have to be in rpnet in order to sync everything. But the problem is, if I format my laptop, I need to backup the existing files and right now, my external hard disk has some stupid virus that's not allowing me to access all my folders in it. All my pictures of RP, GNK, family, are all inside and i can't get to it. The virus hid everything. My cousin told me I'd have to go to Sim Lim to get them to help me recover everything. I was thinking of going this Friday, but I'd be from Bedok. Sigh. Virus sucks.

& I was just thinking of getting a new harddisk. :(

I can't wait for my next salary, haha. When I look at my CPF statement, I get this feeling of awesomeness. But it also reminds me that it's my time this year to be giving out duit raya. Anak mak dah besar, tak payah dapat duit raya lagi. Boooo! :(

Gonna tell mum to set an appointment with the home-based salon at Blk 569 next Saturday. I can't stand long hair now! :(

Guess this is enough of a proper update huh? Missing a lot of people now that I'm busy chasing my dreams.

That's about it. See you on the next post! In the meantime, always be in the best of health! :3

And it's not theirs to speculate if it's wrong and
Your hands are tough but they are where mine belong in
I'll fight their doubt and give you faith with this song for you

So don't you worry your pretty little mind
People throw rocks at things that shine
And life makes love look hard
The stakes are high, the water's rough
But this love is ours
